In honor of February, the month of love, we had a convo with Emma, one of the stars of Lifetime’s “Prison Brides,” the innovative docuseries, which premiered January 10, 2024.  This fearless woman, who grew up in the United Kingdom, met her soulmate, Curtis, who was incarcerated in a U.S. prison for carjacking.

The two began as pen pals, and eventually they said the “l” word.  At that point, Emma who had been visiting Curtis, decided to move from the UK to the U.S., much to the surprise of friends and family members.

In this brave new world, Emma quest for happiness is unmatched.  And on Lifetime’s new groundbreaking series, we not only learn about her journey, but of the other cast members who have found true love, too.  The series follows the adventures of seven women who travel across the globe to form relationships with men who are currently incarcerated (several are in the midst of being released, including Curtis), and the challenges that exist in such relationships. Emma candidly shares advice for women who are intrigued by their stories, cautioning viewers that all stories may not have a happy ending, so be aware and be realistic.
