(Watch) Rapper J. Alphonse Reacts to ‘P-Valley’s’ Popularity

J. Alphonse Nicholson has developed a wide following as Lil’ Murda on the Starz series “P-Valley.”The trapper rapper who grew from a perpetrator in search of a sound into a skreet griot on the rise in the Delta and beyond. In his coming of age at The Pynk he found and ultimately lost love due to his inability to openly embrace his sexuality. Ready to take his career to the next level, this Mis’Sip boy embarks on an odyssey throughout the South. But truth, he learns, has a way of finding you out in the world.

In real life, he’s a credible drummer who has worked with the likes of Talib Kweli, Stanley Jordan and Meshell Ndegeocello.  He’s also appeared on Broadway in  “A Soldier’s Play” and been seen on such series as Luke Cage, Blue Bloods and Chicago PD.  Let him tell you all about his journey in his interview with Cynthia Horner.
