Right On! Digital is spotlighting another Phenomenal Woman. This time, the spotlight is on publicist Trea Davenport, who inspires clients and other industry professionals.
Ever wonder how artists like Kash Doll, Bre-Z, Chrisette Michele, and Gucci Mane go from obscurity to superstar status? Well, according to Davenport, “Stardom is like a really good gumbo; it’s a concoction of equally important ingredients. In the mix of a good track, popping social media, street buzz, a pinch of luck and good timing and seemingly magic dust, is the wand of a well connected, resilient publicist stirring the pot.”
Having been the first ever publicist of the aforementioned rappers and songstress, Public Relations and Branding Strategist Davenport is a master chef of that recipe. The feisty Detroit native has made a livelihood and thriving practice of shining off diamonds in the rough and making stars shine brighter.
Her PR firm Trea Day Management & Publicity has worked with such hip hop mainstays like Charli Baltimore, the Outlawz, Kurupt, and Lil Flip to younger acts like Brooklyn Queen, Que and Love & Hip Hop Miami star Miami Tip.
Her impressive roster includes not only entertainers, business executives and others but she has worked with some of the most beloved athletes, including 10-year NFL veteran Michael Johnson.
In the midst of making folks famous, the accomplished author, filmmaker, dedicated wife and proud mom of three young men and a beautiful grandson, founded PR University, a fortified collection of classes, webinars, e-books and resources that teach PR and business skills. In addition, she utilizes decades of experience, skill, and knowledge to empower and educate and mentor hopefuls who are looking to enter the field.
Keep up with this inspiring sister making Women’s History this month and every month @TreaDavenport.
