On The Come Up: Dejah Is That Girl!

The South has already gotten a taste of what Dejah can do, and with her explosive new track “That Girl” she solidifies her place in the independent hip-hop scene. The fiery new album harnesses Dejah as both a performer and as a songwriter. “That Girl” is a track that’s sure to get the girls lit and feeling themselves with that extra confidence that we all need sometimes.

Dejah has performed at the So So Summer Tour, lighting up the stage with The Rap Game artists. She did a song & video “Just Dance” with the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dancers that get the dance team hype before every game. Her song “Dance Like a Maniac” for the Dallas Mavericks Maniaacs get played at every Dallas Mavericks game. That’s huge for a young artist on the come up!

She’s made a name in Dallas and now it’s time for the rest of the world, to drizzle their musical palette with the sounds of Dejah.

That Girl was inspired by my self-esteem,” says nineteen-year old Dejah. “There are times when the devil tries to get me down and make me feel like I’m not enough, so this song was a reminder to me, and every girl out there, that you ARE that girl and to let no one tell you different. Stay confident and beautiful.”

Dejah was jhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7OLS-uA0aUust seven years old when she started performing with Gospel Hip Hop artist God’s Prodigy touring all over Georgia. After moving to Texas with their military family, Dejah’s goal was to make clean-cut music for all audiences with positive lyrics filled with messages of anti-bullying, unity, inspiration and something that people can dance to. Dejah is an amazing dancer and choreographer. It’s no surprise that Dejah made the dance team at University of North Texas as an incoming freshman this fall.

She adds, “Young, Black, gifted and ready to take on the world with a message to the girls out there struggling with self-esteem. I know we can all relate to that!”
