Kyla Imani: Adorable!

Kyla Imani is a gorgeous, talented young woman whose latest single  “Sitting Up In My Room”
(featuring Jay Critch),, is making noise on the music scene. But  the New York City-born performer is not only a triple-threat in entertainment, she has deemed it necessary to use her platform in ways that extend beyond creating the average bubbly melody. From writing pieces that address social issues like March For Our Lives to singing about the realities of being a “Regular Girl,” Kyla Imani is here for every young woman repping “Queen Status” — and she does it all while remaining true to her most authentic self.

A product of 2000’s hybrid-blend of music, it is clear in her music that her inspirations include the likes of Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Ne-Yo, Demi Lavato and Rihanna, among others. In 2014, at the age of 14, Kyla meticulously recreated Beyonce’s “7/11” music video with a few strategic “PG” substitutions, recorded her own version of the song, uploaded it to YouTube, and watched the plaudits roll in.

MTV praised her ingenuity and imagination, and called the video “flawless”— a compliment Beyoncé fans in particular ought to appreciate. BET followed suit, dubbing Kyla Imani a rising star with an extremely promising future. In 2016, Kyla unpacked more heat, releasing her first visual EP, Sweet Tea, inspired by Beyoncé’s Lemonade project,

With the release of her latest single, Kyla is poised to continue to take center stage as she did at the recent Source360 Block Party and numerous other appearances in the NY area.  Follow her on social media @kylaimani and let her know what you think!
