Building on its legacy of compelling documentaries that empower women to reclaim their narratives, Lifetime announced the new original documentary, Kimora Lee: On Her Own, to premiere Saturday, September 20 at 8/7c. Model, businesswoman and mother, Kimora Lee, tells her story through candid interviews with her children, family, friends and collaborators to chronicle her extraordinary journey from one of Karl Lagerfeld’s youngest Chanel models to the visionary behind Baby Phat. The doc also follows her very public marriages and subsequent divorces and who she is now on her own.
“People think they know my story because they watched it happen in the headlines,” said Kimora Lee. “They don’t. So many years of being somebody’s muse, somebody’s wife, somebody’s ex. Someone else always holding the pen. Not anymore. Here are the highs, the lows and the receipts. No filter. Just Kimora Lee.”

More than the story of a global fashion empire, Kimora Lee: On Her Own is a portrait of resilience and independence as Kimora reflects on the personal and professional challenges that shaped her life, the sacrifices behind her success, and her determination to reclaim her voice. Kimora also opens up about motherhood, love, heartbreak, ambition and the strength it took to rebuild on her own terms. The documentary also celebrates Kimora’s undeniable influence on fashion and culture with Baby Phat, creating a brand that symbolized confidence, inclusivity and expression.
