Why is the film so important? A celebration of girlhood and the complexities that come with it, “Cookie Queens” is a coming-of-age story about the joys, pressures, and tensions woven into one of America’s most cherished rituals: Girl Scout Cookie season. Right On!’s Cynthia Horner, a former Girl Scout, had an opportunity to go one on one with the director/writer, Alysa Nahmias and Scout Nikki for the film, which was produced by Michael Dweck, Gregory Kershaw, Alysa Nahmias, and Jennifer Sims. Featuring Scouts Ara, Shannon Elizabeth, Nikki, and Olive, this film speaks to the heart and hustle of young ladies who were going to sell boxes and boxes of the world’s famous cookie brand–by all means necessary.
