Usher’s New Look, BET and Boys & Girls Clubs Partner to Support Future Entertainment Leaders

Usher’s New Look, BET and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit have announced a new collaboration designed to help young people explore careers in media, music and entertainment.

The initiative officially launched during the 2026 BET Awards, where four interns from Usher’s New Look’s Entertainment Industry Club: Live Touring Edition joined the BET Next Gen program. Throughout BET Awards Week, the interns worked alongside BET professionals in communications, social media, marketing, production, and brand creative while gaining hands-on experience in the entertainment industry.

Building on the program’s early success, the partnership will expand into a year-round leadership and workforce development initiative based at Spark Lab Studios in Atlanta and Detroit. Participants will have opportunities to develop industry skills, earn certifications, receive executive mentorship, and work on real-world projects.

Founded by Usher in 1999, Usher’s New Look helps young people develop leadership skills through mentorship and educational programs. Together with BET and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit, the organizations hope to create more opportunities for the next generation of media and entertainment professionals.
