Mississippi-based R&B and soul artist Muscadine Wine recently shared a memorable moment with Brandy during the Brandy Norwood Homecoming Celebration in McComb, Mississippi, on July 6, 2026. The hometown event brought together community members and artists to celebrate Brandy’s connection to Mississippi and the musical roots they share.
Held as part of McComb’s “Live at Five” event series, the celebration brought the community together to honor Brandy’s connection to her hometown. During the event, Right On! Publisher Cynthia Horner who has known Brandy for many years, along with Chrissy Murray (Brandy’s first publicist), helped facilitate a special introduction between the two artists, allowing them to connect and celebrate their shared Mississippi ties.
“It was a pleasure meeting Brandy and her daughter Sy’Rai. They both greeted me with warm Southern hospitality and bright smiles. It was comforting to be around talent and love rooted in Mississippi,” Muscadine Wine shared. “Sy’Rai, Brandy’s daughter, was kind enough to connect with me on Instagram. We now follow each other. All in all, meeting Brandy was genuine and felt right at home.”
The meeting highlighted the importance of community, connection, and the shared artistic roots that continue to make Mississippi a meaningful place for generations of performers.
