Born in Jamaica Queens and raised in the Bronx, LAWSON is a rising artist known for his raw, nostalgic, and emotionally resonant sound. His journey took a major turn at age 10 when he entered the group home system – a defining chapter in his life that gave him thick skin and a deep well of inspiration. It was there he met social worker Sean Gill, who introduced him to songwriting and helped shape his earliest music. LAWSON recorded his first song at 16 and never looked back. Influenced by musical icons like Michael Jackson, Biggie, and later collaborators, LAWSON’s music blends vulnerability with confidence – a sound that feels authentic and gritty. He’s toured with Waka Flocka and Swae Lee, written for major artists, and collaborated with names like Playboi Carti, Giveon, Leon Thomas, Teddy Swims, Cash Cobain, Moneybagg Yo, among others.

With dream collaborations such as Frank Ocean and Erykah Badu, LAWSON describes his sound as “nostalgic, raw, emotional, and catchy.” When asked what he wants fans to take away from his forthcoming music, he explains that he’s not just making songs – he’s creating moments. Whether it’s joy, heartbreak, nostalgia, or the urge to call someone you miss, LAWSON wants fans to feel something real.
