GRAMMY-nominated singer, television personality, and health advocate Tamar Braxton, has announced her brand-new partnership with Gilead Sciences, Inc to raise awareness about HIV prevention options, particularly PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), among Black women. The partnership kicked off at Essence Festival 2025, where Braxton appeared at the Safe & Sexy panel on the Global Black Economic Forum stage.
Tamar Braxton, shared, “I’m partnering with Gilead Sciences to help more Black women see PrEP as an option for protecting their health, their peace, and their pleasure. I’m all about dating with confidence, and Black women have stopped talking about HIV, and it needs to be part of our conversation again.”
The partnership comes at a crucial time for Black women’s health. Despite representing over 50% of new HIV diagnoses among women, Black women account for only 13% of U.S. female population. This significant gap highlights the urgent need for culturally relevant education and advocacy around HIV prevention options.
Tamar Braxton is a GRAMMY-nominated singer, television personality, and advocate who has brought truth and transparency to every stage of her career. From “Braxton Family Values” to “The Real,” she has used her platform to address important issues. Today, she’s using her voice to speak out about HIV prevention and breast cancer awareness, serving as a bold, beautiful force and fierce champion for Black women’s health.
