Featured on “Put Kamala in the White House” is Michelle Stevenson, whom Mickey proudly wanted to sing lead on this release as she embodies today’s modern women. Michelle is the CEO and founder of Innerverse Enterprises — certified in Spiritual Psychology, a Rape Crisis /Domestic Violence Advocate, a Suicide Hotline Crisis Counselor, and a leader and coach for Landmark Worldwide, one of the most transformational programs in the world.
As a legendary songwriter, producer, musician, and Motown’s first A&R man — Mickey is not only a major pivotal figure in music history but is credited as one of the principal architects of the “Motown Sound.”
His “Dancing in the Streets” remains one of the most popular Motown anthems ever. He has been influential in discovering and developing the careers of Stevie Wonder, Martha and the Vandellas, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, and The Temptations.
Mickey is working on two dynamic musicals at present, and the genesis of this new release came from a scene in his musical, “Sing It From The Heart”—where Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Lena Horne, Josephine Baker, and Eartha Kitt are all discussing the fact that someday there’s bound to be a woman in the White House!!!!
Upon reflection, Mickey decided to reshape and remix the song to cater to Kamala Harris’ moment in history.
Mickey continues to write new material for young pop artists and is finishing the development of “The Azusa Revival” — his next musical in production, which is anticipated to premiere in early 2025.
