(Watch) Bebe Winans and Chloe Ellis React To Success of ‘Mind Your Business’

Bounce TV’s  “Mind Your Business” is a half-hour comedy that tells the story of the Williams family, which is in the business of celebrating some of life’s biggest events with its music services. However, when it comes to the Williams’ family affairs, there’s a need for referees instead of DJs.

Right On!’s Cynthia Horner got one on one time with Gospel Great Bebe Winans during a recent TV series press conference. Watch here:

According to the series’ description, Like a lot of small businesses, Lucille Williams’ once-prospering 30s-and-older lounge, Lucille’s Place, took a huge hit, forcing her to sell. Lucille’s baby brother, Henry Williams, couldn’t stand by and let Lucille’s Place slip away, so he recruited his fraternal twins, Aaliyah and Alfonso, to keep the business in the family. With Aaliyah’s creative sensibilities and Alfonso’s business mind, a safe space for planning and hosting events was born. Alfonso’s wife, Kimberly, and son, Alfonso Jr. (A.J.), join the event planning team. Even Aaliyah has one of their chosen family members, Mia, join the team; she is a jack of all trades – so she thinks. Although the new-and-improved Lucille’s Place brings everyone together, their affairs end up causing a mess bigger than a college frat party.

Cast members include Rolonda Watts from the internationally syndicated talk show “Rolonda” as Lucille; Caryn Ward Ross (“Fame,” “Monogamy,” “Patterns of Attraction”) as Kimberly; Brely Evans (“Ambitions,” “Being Mary Jane,” “The Man in 3B”) as Mia; Bryce Xavier (“A Bennett Song Holiday,” “Stay Tuned: The Movie,” Total Eclipse”) as A.J.; and Chloe Elise Ellis (“Borrasca,” “Footprints,” “Three Stories Up”) as Jordan, Alfonso and Kimberly’s youngest child. And of course, Columbus Short (“Scandal,” “Stomp The Yard”) as Alfonso; Drew Sidora (“The Real Housewives of Atlanta) as Aaliyah; and singer/radio host Bebe Winans.

Cynthia Horner and Chloe Elise Ellis Discuss “Mind Your Business”

The Williams Family is in the business of celebrating some of life’s biggest events, but when it  comes to the Williams’ family affairs it calls for referees instead of DJs. Just like a lot of small businesses during the pandemic, Lucille Williams’ once prospering 30s  and up lounge, Lucille’s Place, took a huge hit, forcing her to sell. Lucille’s baby brother, Henry  Williams, couldn’t stand by and let Lucille’s Place slip away so he recruits his fraternal twins,  Aaliyah, and Alfonso, to keep the business in the family. With Aaliyah’s creative sensibilities and  Alfonso’s business mind, a safe space for planning and hosting events is born. Both Alfonso’s  wife, Kimberly, and son, Alfonso Jr., join the event planning team. Even Aaliyah has one of their  chosen family members, Mia, join the team who is a jack of all trades, so she thinks. Although  the new and improved Lucille’s Place brings everyone together, their affairs end up spilling over  into the business causing a mess bigger than a college frat party.

The 411 on the characters:

ALFONSO: The BRAINS

Henry’s son and the oldest twin who’s the business and financial mind of the William’s family.  He is still balancing his corporate American job as a Senior Accountant because he doesn’t know if the family business is going to work out, which causes friction between the two. He has a hard  time letting go and having fun, unlike the rest of his family. His children, ALFONSO JR. and  JORDAN, not only help him with the business, but they also help him mend his relationship with  his own father.

AALIYAH: The CREATIVE

Henry’s daughter and Alfonso’s twin sister who tends to “do” and ask questions later. She is the  creative mind of the family, and she uses that to plan the events and creative aspects at Lucille’s  Place. Sometimes her carefree attitude and creative mind keeps her from thinking about the  business side, which her twin brother must keep alive. It also keeps her from thinking about her  unexpected jump into singlehood after an ugly divorce from her college sweetheart leaves her snappy and back in the dating pool.

KIMBERLY: The PEACEKEEPER

Kimberly is known for being a stay-at-home mom, but now she’s ready to be more than a  mother and Alfonso’s wife. She has a great eye for detail and quickly becomes the decorator at  Lucille’s Place. She struggles adjusting to a 9 to 5 after not working for 17 years. Managing it all – work, the kids, and her husband isn’t as easy or exciting as she thought, but she refuses to

return to being the president of the PTA and the Stay-at-Home Mom’s Club. Despite her role,  she’s always the caregiver and peacemaker for everyone, except herself.

HENRY WILLIAMS: The FREE SPIRIT

He thinks he’s a hip and cool cat daddy, but he’s just old school with a smooth way of handling  the toughest problems. Especially when it comes to his twins, Alfonso, and Aaliyah. Henry’s love  revolves around two things – his family and his music, so when Lucille called, he jumped at the  chance to save his big sister’s business after COVID. On the road as a musician, he has not been  in touch with Lucille much in the last few years, so he has a lot of catching up to do. He’s also  getting acclimated to being a full-time grandfather and Aaliyah’s assistant. His kids won’t let him  be the main performer for the venue.

LUCILLE WILLIAMS: The MATRIARCH

As the matriarch of the family, Lucille is the person the family goes to when they need advice  and love. During the pandemic, her once prospering 30s and up lounge, Lucille’s Place, took a  huge hit, forcing her to sell. But a call to her little brother, Henry, turned her failing business into  a family business. Now, with more time on her hands, she wants to focus on finding a new  version of herself – new man, new wigs, new hobbies, new everything.

ALFONSO JR. (AJ): The INFLUENCER

The son of Alfonso and Kimberly. Being a teenager, he’s tech savvy with a huge following and a  knack for creative marketing. His popularity was an overnight phenomenon, but it comes with  great benefits for the family business. Since he knows the ins and outs of social media, AJ helps

get the new version of Lucille’s Place off the ground and into the hands of the Chicago  community. He prides himself in being part of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as a fashion  influencer and foodie.

JORDAN: The MEDIATOR

As Alfonso and Kimberly’s youngest child, Jordan is the family’s cute and unpaid counselor. She’s  the only one who hears unsolicited confessions from everyone in the family, especially her best  friend – Aunt Lucille. She’s the common ground for every family issue, but she’s not the greatest  at keeping secrets. She’s working on it. At Lucille’s Place, the only job Jordan has to do is answer  the phone saying, “Thank you for calling Lucille’s Place. Please hold!”

MIA: The HUSTLER

Aaliyah’s childhood best friend and a true hustler with five jobs. She’s the sister Aaliyah always  wanted, but never had. They grew up on the same street and went to the same schools since  4th grade. Although Alfonso can’t stand her, he secretly loves her like a sister. However, he’ll  only show it when necessary. Mia is the only child on her mother’s side, but she has two older  brothers on her father’s side. She is aggressive, spontaneous, comical, down for whatever, single  and addicted to men.
