The Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after he was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion’s foot after the two left a party hosted by Kylie Jenner back in 2020. He was also found guilty of three different felonies, which include assault with a semi-automatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence and having an unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
Megan Thee Stallion did not attend the sentencing since she “simply could not bring myself to be in a room with Tory again”. Lanez apologized for his actions, saying ““Everything I did that night, I take full responsibility…“I truly am just trying to be a better person”, where the rapper received support from his father calling the system “wicked” after the sentencing and rapper Iggy Azalea, who yearned for a reasonable punishment that is not completely damaging in the long run.
Many fans believe the punishment is too harsh, while Megan Thee Stallion and her fans believe it’s not enough considering the emotional and physical trauma she has faced to this day.
