The renowned actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made an impressive undisclosed seven-figure donation to support the SAG-AFTRA Foundation relief fund after the organization went on strike for its over 160,000 actors and members of the entertainment industry. This was done in response to a letter which was sent by Courtney B. Vance, the foundation’s president to 2,700 of the highest-earning actors in the industry and she says, “I want to thank Dwayne for his tremendous generosity, compassion, and initiative to step up in this significant and meaningful way for our community. On behalf of the thousands who will be helped by his historic donation, thank you.”
While the strike only affects about 65,000 actors, it’s the first time since 1960 where Hollywood actors and scriptwriters effectively shut-down and pause production throughout the world of entertainment.
