Academy Award winning actress, Viola Davis, has just been cast to play as the villain, Dr. Volumnia Gaul, the head gamemaker of the 10th annual Hunger Games” in the upcoming Prequel film, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”. Producer Nina Jacob says that David was “their “dream” casting for the role “from the beginning” because of the “finely layered intelligence and emotion she brings to every role.” She also says that they “are incredibly fortunate to have an actor with Viola’s extraordinary range and presence to play this pivotal role.”
The cast for the film will also feature Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Jason Schwartzman, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer and Josh Andrés Rivera, and will be directed by Francis Lawrence. who previously directed three out of the four Hunger Games movies.
