The 2022 BET Awards ceremony was a celebration of the “very best in entertainment and culture” that became synonymous with Black culture and artistry, to which they are honored for their impact on social problems and how much their work positively affected the world around them. The event took place on June 26th, 2022 and was held in the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA and was hosted by Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning actor, writer, director and Philanthropist, Taraji P. Henson. It featured surprise performances from Latto with Mariah Carey, Jack Harlow with Brandy, and Lil Wayne and included a memorable tribute for Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was honored with the BET Lifetime Achievement Award.
