The Original Tee Golf Classic (OTGC), a premier Celebrity golf tournament, was held July 24, 2022, to honor NBA Legend Alonzo Mourning at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, NJ. This was the first OTGC full post-pandemic outing and featured a two team match up led by Alonzo Mourning’s Miami Heat and fellow NBA Legend John Starks’ New York Knicks which ended with Mourning’s Heat winning the game.
There was also a festive dinner hosted by comedian Alex Thomas in celebration of the Original Tee Golf Classic’s 23rd anniversary where Mourning was presented with its prestigious True Original Award where he says, “I really am humbled and honored to be recognized for the thing that I truly care about, and it’s not basketball” and “One of the words I hear used quite a bit is community. Community is important to me because we don’t grow in isolation. We don’t grow by ourselves. We grow in community.”
