BPC Honors the Life and Legacy of Bishop Tutu

Bishop Desmond Tutu’s impact on the world has inspired generations of young Black men and women to choose love over hate through his acts of kindness and enlightened outlook on life. Working tirelessly to end apartheid and serving as a champion of LGBTQIA+ rights, Bishop Tutu was a moral compass for South Africa, navigating his people through dark, oppressive times. With apartheid only ending in 1994, there is still so much work to do to ensure equality for all, but Bishop Tutu forged the path for the next generation of activists to continue his legacy of building a better tomorrow.

Using his platform as the first Black BIshop of Johannesburg and later as the Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, Bishop Tutu made human rights his mission through which the world is now a better place. Words cannot express the sense of loss we feel knowing that Bishop tutu’s light is no longer with us, but we celebrate the movement he started and the influence he leaves behind.

We thank you for serving as a tangible reminder to love one another.
