Everybody loves a feel-good production, and “Annie” is one of the most beloved and biggest hits in Broadway history and the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on the Harold Gray comic strip “Little Orphan Annie” that debuted in 1924, the musical first  premiered on Broadway in 1977.
This new version of the musical, called “Annie Live!”, airs on NBC on December 2 at 8 pm.

Fashion is so important, and NBC’s “Annie Live” is full of fab clothing that the A-list cast wears.  Right On! Digital had the pleasure of sitting down with the show’s costume designer, Emilio Sosa, who has worked with such icons as Diana Ross and Mariah Carey.
Who is Emilio Sosa? He is  an awarded costume designer and has worked with music icons Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, and Gloria Estefan, just to name a few.
He has received both Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominations and has been the recipient a Lucille Lortell Award, NAACP Theatre Awards, and LA Ovation Award. Emilio’s talent was also evident on season seven of Project Runway and Project Runway All Stars, where he showed his final collection on all models of color, a first for the popular franchise.
Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York City, he styled music videos for such hip hop classic artists as  Kid-N-Play, Salt ‘N Pepa and MC Lyte before landing opportunities to work on such Broadway productions as “Motown: The Musical,” “TopDog/UnderDog, and “Porgy And Bess.”
His journey is an amazing, inspirational story and it’s a fascinating interview, especially for those who are interested in becoming a designer.

The holiday musical event cast features Titus Burgess as Rooster Hannigan, Harry Connick Jr. as Daddy Warbucks, Taraji P. Henson as Miss Hannigan,  Jane Krakowski as Lily St. Regis, Nicole Scherzinger as Grace, and Celina Smith playing the role of the beloved Annie!
