Bobby Sessions Releases Original Short Story In Black Panther Issue #24

Bobby Sessions continues the Def Jam Recordings ongoing collaboration with Marvel Comics  as his original short story debuts within issue #24 of Black Panther, available in comic shops nationwide on March 24, 2021.  Bobby will be discussing his Black Panther project on Marvel’s Pull List, one of several official Marvel podcasts available via SiriusXM and other platforms.

Revolutionary Dallas rapper Bobby Sessions won his first career Grammy Award® in 2021 for Best Rap Song as co-writer of Megan Thee Stallion & Beyonce’s landmark RIAA platinum “Savage Remix” which topped charts worldwide. Bobby & Meg have continued their winning ways on the new track “I’m A King,” the lead single from the recent Coming 2 America Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Bobby’s three-page character-driven story about Black Panther, King of Wakanda is part of the final three-issue “Intergalactic Empire” saga of the Black Panther Marvel Comics series, from the acclaimed creative team that features writer Ta-Nehisi Coates and artist Daniel Acuna.

Three of Def Jam’s rising stars – Saint BodhiBobby Sessions, and Kaash Paige – are each contributing character-driven short stories in Black Panther issues #23, #24, and #25 respectively.  Last month’s Black Panther #23 saw buzzing South-Central-LA singer/songwriter Saint Bodhi share her take on Storm for an emotional story grounded in tragedy and acceptance. In April’s Black Panther finale issue #25, “Toxic R&B” breakout star Paige forges a tale about Wakandan Princess Shuri and the power of knowledge.
