The former resident of Minneapolis first burst onto the scene as a member of the R&B trio Next, went on to achieve success with memorable popular collabs with such artists as Deborah Cox on her gold single “We Can’t Be Friends,” and the popular “Best Man” track alongside fan faves Ginuwine, Tyrese, and Case.

But although RL’s performance skills have propelled him to the top of the “go-to” list of performers for stage shows, as a songwriter, his credits include having penned classics including the following: ‘Bring Your Heart To Mine’ – Luther Vandross, ‘Come Here’ – J. Holiday, ‘Forecast’ – Jamie Foxx, ‘U R The One’ – Usher, ‘Just In Case’ and ‘Anything’ – Jaheim, and ‘Valentine’s Girl’ – Mindless Behavior.
An undeniable sex symbol, this dad spends most of his time working with various producers these days and, like many of us, taking an interest in social justice matters. “I traveled back to my hometown Minneapolis after the George Floyd incident. I wanted to meet with people because I was concerned about what had taken place. I met with the Police Chief to discuss reform,” he tells Right On! Digital.
