Former New Orleans Saints star Junior Galette went back to New Orleans to host a Drive-Thru PPE Distribution event, kicking off his We Are Here initiative to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The August 14, 2020 distribution was made possible in partnership with Household of Faith Family Worship Church, the City Waste Union, Rep. Gary Carter and Athena Real Estate. “New Orleans means a lot to me and if I can come together with Pastor Antoine and First Lady Dale to show the community that I appreciate all of the love that I received when I was playing football with the Saints by giving back to the people of this amazing city, I won’t hesitate to do it,” said Galette. |
“Being from Haiti, I’m no stranger to crises, so I will always use my platform to try to make a difference and create an opportunity to promote strength through unity. Where I’m from, we say “NuLa” which is Haitian Creole for “We Are Here” and I want New Orleans to know that I am here to support every effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.” The We Are Here Initiative will move throughout Greater New Orleans in the coming weeks as the anchor community outreach program for the soon to be launched Junior Galette Foundation. |
