The 2020 Black Music Honors was a night of unforgettable performances and special musical tributes. The two hour televised special, which aired November 21, 2020 on Bounce TV was hosted by Rickey Smiley.
Black Music Honors recognized and awarded iconic figures. Grammy® Award-nominated R&B legends En Vogue received the Urban Icon Award, Grammy® Award-winner, actress and Broadway star Deborah Cox received the Entertainer Icon Award, and multiple Stellar and Grammy® Award-winning producer Fred Hammond received the Gospel Music Icon Award. The National Museum of African American Music was honored with the Legacy Award.
It was an evening of uplifting performances and special moments featuring Tweet, MAJOR., June’s Diary, Sheléa, Brian Courtney Wilson, D Smoke, Evvie McKinney, Marvin Sapp, RL, and Musiq Soulchild. If you didn’t get a chance to catch the broadcast, the awards show Central City Productions will present the 2020 Black Music Honorsin national broadcast syndication through December 13, 2020.
